Notes:
Bursaries may be available to aid in funding the registration fees solely related to their participation in the St. Thomas Music Festival.

  1. Bursaries are distributed on the basis of financial need.
  2. Amount awarded will be dependent on the funding still available at time of submission.
  3. For legal and privacy reasons, St. Thomas Music Festival does not require, nor accept, tax return information.
  4. All applications are confidential, and information provided will only be used for assessment by the St. Thomas Music Festival Scholarship Committee.
  5. Applicants are required to register and pay their full entry fees. If they are successful in being awarded a bursary, the funds will be e-transferred to the email indicated on the bursary application form.
  6. If you experience difficulty completing the fillable form online, you may print it out, complete it by hand, scan and return/ attach it via email.

Eligibility:
To be eligible, you must have a financial need in covering the cost of the registration fees related to your participation in the St. Thomas Music Festival.

Submission Procedure:
To be considered for the Estate of Donna Vera Bushell within Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation (formerly Doris Evans Music Student Fund), ALL of the following are required:

  1. Complete sections 1, 2, and 3 on the application form.
  2. Section 4: Write a brief paragraph outlining how this bursary would assist in funding the registration fees related to your participation in the St. Thomas Music Festival. Email it as an attachment with the application form.
  3. Section 5: Attach a Letter of Support, from a current music teacher, outlining how this bursary would assist in funding the registration fees related to your participation in the St. Thomas Music Festival. Email it as an attachment with the application form.
  4. Applicant must sign and date application.
  5. Current music teacher must sign and date application.
  6. To request assistance for St. Thomas Music Festival, the application and Letter of Support must be received by the St. Thomas Music Festival Scholarship Committee no later than 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026.

  8. You will be notified by Monday, January 26, 2026 if you qualify for assistance.

Application Deadline:
Applications for St. Thomas Music Festival must be received by 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026.

Decisions:
Competitors requiring funds to assist with the registration fees solely for the St. Thomas Music Festival qualify for consideration.

  1. Applications will be reviewed by the St. Thomas Music Festival Scholarship Committee.
  2. Successful applicants will be notified no later than Monday, January 26, 2026.
  3. Bursaries will be paid by e-transfer to the email indicated on the bursary application form at the conclusion of the festival.
