Having just completed their 68th year of providing the St Thomas community with a Music Festival, the torch is being passed to another community group - the St Thomas Christian Church aka (STCC). The committee wishes to thank the Rotarians for their long term support of the festival.
Many past vocal competitors have probably already competed at the STCC facility at 451 Wellington St. For those who are not familiar with them, STCC has been a member of the St Thomas community since the 1880's. Their previous facility is now the Princess Ave Playhouse, and they moved to their current location in the 1980's.
The committee is looking forward to another long term affiliation and community support. More information can be found at the STCC web site, or their parent organizations (Canadian Disciples and International).
The Disciples of Christ have been a Christian witness in St. Thomas, Ontario for 158 years. Beginning as two separate congregations, Park Avenue Christian Church and Princess Avenue Christian Church became a new, blended congregation - St. Thomas Christian Church.
The present church building was dedicated in 1987. Like the neighbourhood around it, the church has grown and changed over the years. Today, St. Thomas Christian Church is still made up of members of both founding churches, those who come from other Christian denominations, as well as new people looking for communion and community.
With a deep love of music, St. Thomas Christian Church is excited to be the new sponsor of the Music Festival!
